You're making me break out in uncontrollable laughter here. Heh. But seriously now, IE seems to have made it a point to NOT be up to date. It doesn't even fully support CSS 1, which has been around since '98. In other words, don't hold your breath. If they do come out with a new version that supports the standards, I'd be very much surprised. Jona 12-04-2004, 06:28 PM You can go ahead and go ahead and upgrade to IE7 (http://dean.edwards.name/IE7/), although it's not the real Microsoft release. Microsoft says the first public Beta will be released in the first half of 2005, with Longhorn being released after they've addressed all the Beta issues. I'd say roughly five million years. ray326 12-04-2004, 11:36 PM Originally posted by amazing_andr3 When is the next version of IE gonna be released? Well if you believe what Microsoft says (and why would anyone in their right mind do that?) the only way you'll ever get a new version of IE is by buying a new version of Windows. There will be no more versions of IE released separately. Unfortunately, this does indeed mean that developers will be unable to test what their site(s) look like in the new browser -- a scary thought, seeing as there's no clue _what_ new problems IE7 will have! vinoth 12-05-2004, 03:59 AM Originally posted by Jona You can go ahead and go ahead and upgrade to IE7 (http://dean.edwards.name/IE7/), although it's not the real Microsoft release. prob IE 7 would release out if HTML is changed to XHTML when new versions would require. http://www.w3.org should replace out it. anyhow use http://www.avantbrowser.com an IE core. the tree 12-05-2004, 06:52 AM Originally posted by vinoth prob IE 7 would release out if HTML is changed to XHTML when new versions would require. Could you please edit that to form a comprehendable sentance? Originally posted by vinoth anyhow use http://www.avantbrowser.com an IE core. Why would I want to do that? It still uses IE's engine therefore still has IE's bugs including the security ones. Firefox (http://mozzila.org/products/firefox) has all the features that Avant has, is w3 compliant, has loads of cool extensions and has a massive support community. webdeveloper.com
