Closing Linked Window

I'm afraid I'm a bit slow at these things so I hope you will bear with me. I use a separate window for links to sites (target"_blank"). However, I have had a couple of e-mails from people who did not realise they were on a separate page and complained.

Is there a code that will insert a phrase or button in the linked (remote) window such as I have seen - like "Close this Window"?

I don't think I'll try that route. If it's not automatic, visitors either don't understand and use it wrongly, or don't use it at all. I think I'll just insert a polite notice.
