Are there any mobos made yet that are compatible with these sticks of ram?

I remember when ddr3200 used to be so new--damn technology changes so fast. Hehe.

holy crap that will be pricy. Let me look, nothing seems to have that. That frequency is insane. I scoured newegg and even looked at the super micro server boards (pretty insane boards with dual xeon/opteron pci-x etc). Nothing seems to have it. That is ddr2 675 (pc5400). Most things I see support ddr2 400 (pc3200) and ddr2 533 (pc4200).

Basically there are no processors that will run at that mhz. Any good motherboard will be able to overclock to that fsb though. When you overclock your processor, you will be able to use that huge fsb totally.

Heheh, how much cooling do you think it would need? :p

Okay....woah.... lets see...

It all depends on your processor. If you are using an intel ht 800 fsb processor it'll go like this:

The intel cpu has 800 mhz fsb, which actually is 200 mhz quad pumped (x 4) So when you up your mhz in your bios you would see a number that is 200, and go up from there.

The ram is 675 mhz... and ddr is double pumped, meaning it will run at 1350 mhz...

That means you will have to up the 200 fsb till you get a number that when multiplied by 4 will get 1350. That is 310 mhz. That is an up of 110 mhz. You'll need watercooling.

When would someone ever need liquid nitrogen? :P

You would need liquid nitrogen when you want to up your cpu to something lke 5 ghz. Its crazy, maximum pc made a vid showing how they did it, they had to make their own heatsink and everything. It was crazy.

When you overclock your processor, you will be able to use that huge fsb totally. When you oc your motherboard you oc your ram too *. So your ram will be running at that frequency. But if you put that stick of ram in a non oced system that supports 533, it will run at 533. This ram is not going to outperform a stick of ddr 533 that gets over clocked. It is just a little safer to use this ram probably because that will be its natural frequency, thus you do not need any extra cooling on the ram to use it.

* this is a front side bus oc, which is the only way to oc an intel system. With amd you can use the cpu ratio which only oces the proc clock speed TMK.
