I have Adobe Photoshop and Image ready, I have made alot of animated smileys, banners, cursors etc. And I want to make them GIF so I can upload them onto my site...because alot of Web Hosters do not upload PSD (photoshop Files). Basically, I need to know how to make PSD (animated files) into Animated GIFs...pls respond ASAP
Thanks Alot
A PSD file is a Photoshop/ImageReady-format file which contains information such as layers, styles and other options. In ImageReady, you must export your image as an animated GIF in order for it to work. To create an animated GIF, you must put each step of the animation in a different layer, then hide all layers except for the one you want visible at that step, and create a new step for each different layer you want to add to the animation.

So basically I go to Image ready...and I go to Export Origianal and save it as GIF? Because when I tried to do that my screen when like green or something...And I don't really use the layers, I use Animation / Slices...so I open my animation, click File > Then Export Original > Then save as GIF>. Then is it ready? Because this is confusing... I have never made Animated GIFs before..
Yes, once you've created the animation. (You can preview it using the "Play" button.)

Hi -
Download GIMP, it's free -
1] Open the first image you want to use, or to make
things even easier, the largest in terms of scale with the rest.
2] New->Layer->transparent [same size].
3] Open the next image->Copy->Paste into 1st->Anchor.
4] Repeat until the orig. img. is now filled with all
of the layers you want to use - all same size.
5] Find the 'Animation' tool and->Play/preview it.
6] To tweak what you have, go to the Layers Dialog->Select a layer->Edit Layer Attributes.
There you can rename the layer, set a time to display it,
and whether to combine or replace:[layer1 (500ms) (replace)]
Or, move a layer up or down [may need to Add Alpha Channel] to
change the order of the animation...
6] Could also simply find 'Animation' ->Optimize for .gif.
Save as name.gif->Save as Animation!
Good luck,
el
