get a programm to do it for ya, I cant recall the name, but you can search for it by key word: Add my site to google, something might come up . . .you can also contact google for how to do that . .

Make sure you have all your meta tags set up correctly - check out this page for details:

Also, you should list it with DMOZ - that's an open directory and I'm told google is involved as well as yahoo, etc. I'm coming up in yahoo searches on my older site now and never submitted to it! Here's the URL:

Be patient, though - it does take a while. Good luck!

Here, I found the message I kept - this is what you get on the DMOZ screen after you've submitted your site:

Submission Received


Your site submission has been received.

An editor will review your submission for inclusion in the directory.

Once your site has been accepted into the Open Directory, it may take anywhere from 2 weeks to several months for your site to be listed on partner sites which use the Open Directory data, such as AOL Search, AltaVista, HotBot, Google, Lycos, Netscape Search, etc. We make updates of the data available weekly, but each partner has their own update schedule.

I knew I read about yahoo, etc. somewhere! :)
