A .fla file is already developed under some flash version, I m trying to open it in Flash 5 and Flash MX, but a "Unexpected File Format" error is coming.

Is this a flash version mix up or the .fla file is corrupt ? Any ideas ?

Yeah, sounds like that file was created in MX2004... one thing you could do would be asking someone with MX04 to save it for FlashMX for you.

the problem in opening the .fla file is solved.

I first tried to open that file in Flash 5, than in flash mx.

but finally opened it with Flash MX 2004.

have used different CDs to install Flash 5 and Flash MX 2004.
