please help me

im making a site, and i want a song to play. i don't want to embed it because that media player box comes up. how would i go about doing this? and if you didn't mind tell me the coding as well

That's annoying...to have music play in the background of your site...unless it's a flash site, and you tell someone first to make sure they aren't already listening to music and/or don't have their volume up really loud. Why do you want music to play in the background? That will only make your site appear less professional.

i agree but on some sites it certainly does help set the feel for a site like if its about a small time a small clasical kind of music to make it feel more homely, but i oftern have heavy rock music playing threw my speakers this means upon site which play music on load it belts out and winds me up as it clashes with the allready playing music.
as for code to do such a think imho your best bet would be downloading a converter and converting it to mp3 format or the standard quick time one (sorry forgoten what format that is)then it loads in the little quicktime play thingy the same can be doen using the embedded code on windows media play if udont mind the playline thingy (sorry dont know the real name its got all the buttons and timeline on it) but make sure it does not automaticaly play as the instance i get unwanted music coming from a website i hit the x and fail to return also put the code as close to the bottom of the page as possible as it loads slow that section so if the rest of the site is allreay loaded in then it wont slow down the speed atwhich your site loads

im just messing around with html, and trying to learn some new things, and i just wanna see how you would do this.

but if you don't know then it's cool. it's not a serious site, just somethin im messin around with. thanks anyway though
