Click to See Complete Forum and Search --> : i will pay for a simple database Cashbattles 12-23-2004, 05:55 PM If you know databases please contact me if your interested in creating one for me I can pay you or partner with you for the website. rhsunderground 12-23-2004, 06:03 PM this violates the AUP agreement, which states:Jupitermedia Acceptable Use Policy You will not post advertisements, chain letters, pyramid schemes, or solicitations, all of which are inappropriate and prohibited in the Forums. You will not post messages that are clearly outside of the stated topic of any Forums nor disrupt a forum by deliberately posting repeated irrelevant messages or copies of identical messages Cashbattles 12-23-2004, 06:09 PM I can't even ask people if they know databases and if they do could I obtain their services? If that is the case then this entire website is hipocritical and frankly lame! Jupac 12-23-2004, 06:17 PM Well you said if I know database. Wtf does that mean. Does it mean that I know a database like I know people? rhsunderground 12-23-2004, 06:18 PM i do not see how it is hypocritical, as it is clearly stated in the rules that solicitations are not wanted. i am simply pointing out those rules to you, which you should have already read. Cashbattles 12-23-2004, 06:26 PM That statement is funny because I made 4 posts in 4 seperate rooms this was like less than an hour ago and I have already had 6 people wanting information so they can quote me. Therefore I don't think this post is unwanted solicitation. Frankly I don't understand why your flipping out over this I am creating jobs and work for people in this business who doesn't want to make money...raise your hand if you don't want the opportunity to make money. It's not like I'm here asking people to buy coffe makers, this is a webdevelopers forum or am I simply mistaken on what business there is here. What a joke! Jupac 12-23-2004, 06:28 PM Well your not even suppose to cross post !!! pyro 12-23-2004, 06:44 PM Cross-posting is not smiled on on these or most other forums... That aside, what type of database are you talking about? MySQL or PostgreSQL? Oracle? Access? Cashbattles 12-23-2004, 06:51 PM If you have AIM please AIM me at Cashbattles. I am not firmilure with databases I suppose mysql but not sure. PeOfEo 12-23-2004, 11:49 PM Originally posted by Cashbattles If you have AIM please AIM me at Cashbattles. I am not firmilure with databases I suppose mysql but not sure. No. If you want our services you should talk to us here. Why should we come to you? Also, I would say this is against the forum TOS because it is a want ad, and advertising is against the TOS clearly. Also, the cross posting is, as pyro said, will likely get the other posts removed. Lets clarify this a bit: If the database running on a windows, linux, or unix server? Cashbattles 12-24-2004, 12:15 AM I really don't understand you people...I am not a web guy I can fiddle around with websites but I am a business man. I came here to find a company or person who creates websites to hire his or her services. I don't understand why people are upset with this! I see it as I came here to give all of you who know databases a chance to bid on a project "hint" make money and yet I seemed to be getting crusified for doing so. I am not here soliciting business. If I were a website developer and soliciting business to develop a website for someone yes I can see that as a no, no, or if I were here trying to sell something to someone yes I can see that as a no, no! The creator of this site needs to take a look at his/ her rules and all of you should welcome people who are here trying to give you business. It's no wonder the majority of businesses are buying these templates and self help build your own websites. Any ways this is my last post you all should think about that and as for why should you come to me. "Laughing" I made the inital contact when I posted "will pay for database" hint, hint I did come to you. Wow talk about a reality check. Good bye and good night! "Laughing" I made the inital contact when I posted "will pay for database" hint, hint I did come to you. Wow talk about a reality check. Good bye and good night! Yes that's all well and good, but you should have worded you initial post a little different and put it in another forum. Its nice for people to want to give me money around christmas time, but if this is a job offer you should have posted it in the business matters section and not cross posted. It is just bad etiquitte and it annoys the people who reply. Also, if you read this, you never answered the question, is your server a windows, linux, or unix server. This can help clarify what kind of db you are going to be running, as mssql server will not run on anything that is not windows, and access, fox pro, and some others are not suited for other things that are not windows. DaveSW 12-24-2004, 03:41 AM Cashbattles, the reason people want to know more about what type of databse it is, is because different people have experience with different databases. Let me give you an example. You walk into the pub and say you want a carpenter. What you really wanted him to build you was a wooden boat. But under the broad title of 'carpenter' you can alo get people who make furniture, wooden houses, fit kitchens etc etc etc. These would have no experience of what is required to design a boat that will float. In this case, most people have knowledge specific to one or two database types. That's why they need to know. ;) 96turnerri 12-24-2004, 07:43 AM I think that you would not have caused such a 'stir' if. You first post was a little more descriptive 1) what you want doing 2) what database type this is (MySQL, MSSQL, Oracle, Access .....) 3) what server you are running 4) what language you want to interface with the DB (PHP, ASP, JSP, .NET) if you could post the above in your next post, maybe people would be more receptive to it Thanks Rich //EDIT: Alternativly, this is a web developer forum which means 99.9% of us here a webdev guys and we know our stuff, but we come here to chat about webdev stuff, sometimes work but not generally (IMO). The place to enlist someones services are sites such as the one in my signature or something like Elance, try googling Freelance. pyro 12-24-2004, 09:06 AM Come on, guys. Take a step back and look at this objectively. The only problem that I have with Cashbattles' post is that he cross-posted it, and since he is offering work, I'd be much more likely to let it slide than any other cross-post (except, perhaps, a public service announcement or something along those lines). I don't see why anyone would have a problem with someone coming on here to try to find a developer to do some work for them. That is what we do, right?! chrismartz 12-24-2004, 11:05 AM Originally posted by Cashbattles It's no wonder the majority of businesses are buying these templates and self help build your own websites. Companies that use templates just show that they are not a professional company. And another thing is that web developers had to make the templates! but nothing can replace web-developers because, we are the creators of everything on the web! Jupac 12-24-2004, 11:07 AM We should limit it to the Bizness Mather Forums? 96turnerri 12-24-2004, 11:44 AM Originally posted by pyro The only problem that I have with Cashbattles' post is that he cross-posted it i think your wrong there Ryan, check his post count to the number of posts he made on this thread, when he says he posted it in other forums i dont think he means other sections of webdev forums, i think he means different forums on other sites EDIT: ignore me, coffee lounge posts dont count towards post count PeOfEo 12-24-2004, 04:00 PM Originally posted by 96turnerri i think your wrong there Ryan, check his post count to the number of posts he made on this thread, when he says he posted it in other forums i dont think he means other sections of webdev forums, i think he means different forums on other sites EDIT: ignore me, coffee lounge posts dont count towards post count He did cross post though, in two other forums here. davidbrent 12-24-2004, 05:59 PM Let us hope he posted in a database forum. davidbrent 12-24-2004, 06:12 PM or she... .obviously. Ray Walker 12-30-2004, 09:18 AM I agree with PYRO, You have my vote. HE ALL , TAKE A CHILL PILL!!!!!!! They guy is just trying to get some help, and if he is new , and didnt know, then now he does.
