Deleted Files Hanging

Hi all,

I hope everyone had a great New Year !

Ok, ever since I upgraded my computer a bit, I've been having problems with OE where it gets errors that have nothing to do with my server or ISP. It seems when there are too many e-mail windows open, it crashes & I have to shut everything down & start it back up again & then it will send the e-mails sitting in the outbox that should have gone out when I pressed "send".

I'm on Win2000 Professional btw

Second, whenever I delete a file from somewhere on one of my HDs, it takes forever for it to delete & then it hangs. I have to open a new "my computer" window if I want to get back in the folder I was previously in.

Any ideas what's going on?

Sounds like you're running out of disk space for virtual memory usage. First thing I'd do is run Scandisk and fix any errors found (to make sure that you don't have files reporting the wrong size, or other problems). Next run the disk cleanup utility and eliminate any unneeded files reported.

Remember to use defragmenter too. It helps a lot. Also, post your computer specs so we can better acess the problem.

If all else fails, boot into dos to delete those files. That will not fix the other problems, but it will get rid of those files.
