1. Make sure that java is enabled in your browsers
2. go to download latest JVM (http://java.sun.com) and install it.

I wouldn't know what to download/ update for java... I'm pretty good with updating everything and knowing how everything works but java just threw me off guard...

Here's (http://java.com/en/download/windows_xpi.jsp) a direct link to the download page.

Well huge sites like Sun and IBM can be a real bear to find specific stuff in. I'm sure Sun has a "get Java now" link they use for grabbing the JRE and that would probably be an even better one (but I'm too lazy to look for it). ;)

Yea, I went to the website you put on there for me thanks... it's just at first I was lost but I figured it out... I downloaded what I needed but my computer still says the same crap about how my java scripting is disabled... my java Is enabled... so I don't what the problem is... everything is updated... java... office... security... my anti virus.. spy ware... everything is good to go and all set the way it's suppose to I even have my cookies and everything taken care of but I can't figure out what the hell my computer wants... it's driving me insane... I think I'm just going to have to pay to take it in and see what it is I'm missing... Thanks for the help... I really do appreciate it... take it easy... bye thanks again...

still says the same crap about how my java scripting is disabled Java and Javascript are two quite distinct things. Installing the JRE and browser plugins gets you the ability to run Java applets in your browser. Javascript is built into the browsers and it sounds like it's disabled on both browsers in your system for some reason.

Well sometimes when I'm trying to get onto a certain website it says Java Scripting is disabled and needs to be enabled in order to proceed... or it says Java is disabled so it says both... I don't know what the problem is... thanks for explaiing that to me though...

Well it looks like you're going to need to get a local geek over to eyeball your system and see what's going on.
