Hi All !!

Maybe omeone can help me...

My website is not accessible, although it shows as running on the server. I have checked for the DNS problem, its not that because even using the IP address I cannot access the site.

It all started when we had to shut down the server for a planned power outage. Although the server rebooted after that the sites on the server are not accessible.

Any ideas???

cheers

Have you actually started the http server? Do you start it from the command line or is it started from a file when you boot the machine? If you start the server from booting the machine, then make sure the file that starts the server automatically has not been damaged. Power surges etc can potentially damage files on the machines hard drive so it might be worth a look. If you start the server manually from the command line, have you supplied all the arguments you usually use or need?

Also check for any alterations to any .htaccess or httpd.conf files.

I know these may seem like stupidly obvious things to check so sorry if you've already checked 'em, but in my experience, it's always the blindingly obvious and simple stuff that gets overlooked and causes the most hassle.

thanks a lot for responding. i can see the site running in the mangement console and this is the default site so the server has the same ip address. so the server is running....
