This is a site designed to give you information about the local community. Primary concerns were usability and fast download speeds.

Please critique design, usability, seo, and anything you may see that you particularly don't like.

Coding seems to be fne here. havnt validated it, but the design looks bad, you got the layout but the fonts i dont think work use arial, verdana, tahoma fonts, maybe at 12px prob better. i would get rid of that square border use a thin one in css for the borders, 1px light gray colour just put one at the top, right and get the other box underneath to sit right under it

I agree with both previous postings: the color scheme is off and the variety of fonts are distracting.

Try using this online color schemer:
http://www.colorschemer.com/online.html

It looks like you're using the fonts "Garamond," "Arial," "Times New Roman," and possibly "Verdana." Studies show that sans serif fonts are easier to read, especially when the user must scan through columns of information, as is presented on your page. Choose one font and stick with it. Rely on color, font size, and emphasis to make things more apparent.

Also, using my browser - IE6, 88x600 screen resolution - the columns are not aligned. The right side is a bit smaller and crowds into the center column. The center column, from the line "Blog" on down is approximately 20-25px farther to the left than the previous content within the center column. It may have to do with a wrapping or clear tag, or lack thereof.

Lastly, the second-to-last horizontal line (over "Hattiesburg Info") seems to be doubled, with one portion of the overlay not extending the same amount. You might want to check that.

Design is tough, especially when one aspires to avoid table layouts(hooray for you!). Just keep plugging along. You're on the road to doing good work!

thanks, I'll take a look at this stuff tonight. Fonts are something I always deal with.
