Existing images.
I do photo editing for marine photographers. I have had a script on each page to prevent coping but of late one of my clients has dragged and copied on his apple system. Thus nullifing my present prevention of coping.
Anyone got some system to create a watermark type image over an existing image?

I just do it in photoshop before I upload them. You can put an opaque copyright notice over them, or reduce the opacity so you can still see the image coming thru it. Won't stop people from downloading the images, but they've been warned that it is copyrighted.

Thanks for the reply. That system will work fine and I will begin using it. I did have a script in the code to prevent the right click method but they are still out there "open to the public" if you will.
I have always disliked the water marks idea because it shows a mistrust to the viewer and sends them a message that you are protective in a negitive way (it's a peace, love & groovy thing), like ya know far out and all that.
I have thousands, I mean many thousands out there already and to go back and adjust each and every one would be a challenge to time and value.
Ho hum, another day in paradise.

The digital watermark (it is embedded in the file) is invisible, so the user viewing your image can not see it. But, I am all for letting people know up front that an image or graphic is mine, or someone elses. Peace, love, and groovy are great as long as everyone is of the same mind set. I don't think I would get crazy if someone right-clicked an image to put on their desktop for awhile because they liked it, but some advertising agency using my graphic for some odd purpose could get me feeling a little unhappy. Especially when I know they are billing their client, but not sharing with me. I wish, in my ideal fantasy of reality, that things such as watermarks or copyright didn't have to exist...but, it's more of a thing to make sure sneaky people don't get away with being sneaky (bad). :( at the expense of others. (I work in an archive and I have all kinds of stories of sneaky people...such as downloading your images and making CDs that they turn around and sell on Ebay) (bad)
