Price for web images

Hello,
I was checking some of the images at www.gettyimages.com but the prices are crazy there. If I am to make a web site with about 10 of these images that means I have to spend on images about ($150 x 10) $1500. This is a bit crazy I think. Am I looking at the wrong place to get proffessional images for web sites? How do web developers deal with this issue?

Why don't you use the image finders of search engines? All free/wide choice. I can always get what i want with a little editing.
