I have my digital camera (Agfa ePhoto CL50) and I'm trying to install the drivers for it, but it's giving me crap. I double-click the InstallShield for it and this is what it brings up: an error window and the Title is "16 bit Windows Subsytem" The error says: "C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\AUTOEXEC.NT. They system file is not suitable for running MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows applications. Choose 'Close' to terminate the application." My options are "Close" or "Ignore." Now when I click either one of these the window closes and nothing changes because I try to start it again and it does the same thing. So I went into the System32 folder and tried to find this file, but it's not there. There's one in the System32\repair folder but I tried cutting it out and trying and that didn't work and I'm not sure what to do. I'm running Windows XP Pro Service Pack 2 and I'm not sure what other specs are needed. Please help, it is most appreciated.

AUTOEXEC isn't there you say? There are plenty of other system files that you will never find. I am not even sure if you can fine them from dos or linux, I have never tried to look. When you plug in the camera does it appear as a device with removable storage or a camera to the system? Most digital cameras are plug and play and need no drivers installed.

Yeah, windows xp pro usually has great support for plug and play peripherals.

Yeah that's what I figured, but it's older and it doesn't do anything when I plug it in. The camera does recognize the computer but the comuter doesn't recognize the camera.

Try going to the camera / fax wizard. control pannel -> scanners and cameras -> add imaging device.

No, that's not the problem. The problem is that it won't let me finish the installation of the drivers because it brings up that erro everytime i start the installation. I don't know how to get around it/what to do.

You should contact the driver maker's support... sound's like a problem with the installer to me, and none of us would know any way around an error like that.
