problem with "dirty" icons randomly appeaing on desktop

I just got a new laptop for Christmas and my freinds came over and thought it would be funny to DL some porn on here so now icons will appear on my desktop randomly and link will appear in my favorites on my web browser. Also when my browser can't find a page it automaiclly take me to a web page i have never heard of. The URL says hotsearchbar.com . i have tried scanning for viruses and searching for unwanted programs. Is there some software i can dl to help me with this or a procedure i can go through so my laptop can run smoothly again?

go to www.lavasoft.de and download ad-aware to search for the spyware. After that then we will talk about step two depending on what happens. If it is really bad you might consider a reformat, that is if you have not fully moved in on your new system. This belongs in the computer issues forum though.
