Urgently need help (setting up PWS)

Hello there,

I am very new to web development. Recently i have this project that need me to build a web page. So, i decided to use visual interdev6 (u could suggest any if you think this isn't suitable for me) So, i install visual interdev6 and it prompt me for web server. Then i installed PWS which is in window98cdrom.

What i should do next? Do i need to install a server in my pc which i am using to build the web page?

Where have you installed the PWS?
or if the machine on which you already have installed is connected to network and you can aaccess to it remotely,then you do not need to install PWS on 2 machines,you cal always create pages at 1 machine and then upload them to the appropriae folder on your server machine.

As for VisualInterdev,for a beginner it might not be a very good idea since it only would create MS specific code,hence,stoping you fromlearning the core langauge.

Thanks for the information given. Well, you mentioned that as a beginner, it's not recommended to use InterDev. What do you recommend then? I would just like to create a simple web page.

The reason I said no to interDev or any other WYSIWYG editor is because they do stuff for you hence limiting your chances of learning stuff,I'd recomend download a trial version of macromedias
Homesite editor,its probably the best editor for HTML/JSP/ASP stuff.

Thanks again for all those advice. I went to the micromedia website and found no homesite editor trial. can i use micromedia studio MX? Is that the same?

Hello Khalid,

After some findings, i have found that micromedia homesite is included in micromedia mx. Am i rite? Pls correct me if i m wrong. So which means, i need to download and install micromedia mx..rite?
