I know this is kinda rough, and I have lots of work to do yet, I was just wanting some feedback on the layout and overall look of this page.

I like the little fish and bubble effect when mousing over the buttons. :)
You could try working on your logo thing in the upper left. Instead of having the diagonal line and two colors.
Looks really nice and clean otherwise.

Vanda, that logo thing is a dive flag... :D

Oh that explains it lol. You could always add some shading or something like it's waving or flapping around a bit. Just so it has some depth (hehe no pun intended) to it.

I like that idea, I may have to animate it. :D

The flag is now animated :D

Looks cool what program did you use? Is there a way to smooth out the edges a bit?

Why don't you do the flag with Flash like the nav is done. Probably give you cleaner results. I'd rather see nice static flag instead a rough animated one to tell the truth.

Here's another idea for you... add the international dive flag alpha as well. It'll be a nice color add and the dive flag won't be so lonely. Just in case I lost you (which I shouldn't have if you dive) here's a link to a really fugly site I just Googled up to give you a pic. The alpha flag is right there.

ouch, that site is fugly...LOL. I did find something to replace the pixilated flag though, I replaced it with...well, you are gonna have to go look :D I also lost the white borders to give it a cleaner look, any comments are appreciated.

BTW, I am aware of the alpha flag, but the shop owner don't want to put it on there.

I like it better. Sns border seems better (I'm going on memory). I'm sorry to say I'm not a fan of the images though, not my style, but hey, it isn't for me and some people will love em. I do like the buttons and the colors are improved. A nice big jpeg of a coral reef or looking at sunlight streaming through the water would be sweet. But then again it depends on how you go about it so it doesn't get too big file-size-wise.

I did note one thing that you might want to consider fixing. The fonts, in my opinion need styles applied to them. A resonable size 8-10pt. Verdana is a fair range and VERY web safe. Back it with Arial, Helvetica, then sans-serif.

The reason is when I viewed the site on Firefox its default font size (normal) is tiny to me. I could probably change the default, but I haven't. I have my MSIE set to like Arial 11pt as a no-styles deault so that's what I see if no styles are applied. The user can change the experience if they want, but you set the stage the way you want it to be.

I hope this helps.

I think I will leave the bottom font size alone, but I think the top does need to be bigger. BTW, I use Firefox too, I would never go back to IE, but alas, lots of folks still using it so you have to build sites for both. Oh, and can't forget about the Netscrapings :D

Love or or hate it, according to the stats on our servers, all sites combined, 98% of our visitors are using MSIE 5.0+.

Curious, why not address the footer if your gonna do the rest? With a CSS you can do the whole site with a few lines if you keep it simple.

I will address it, but I am going to leave the size the same is all, I think if I go to big there it will overpower the image, it is meant to be more of a footnote to the photo, BTW, that is not the image that is going to be in there, that is just one for a place holder.

Ah, I see. Yeah, that's how I do it too. Say 8pt down and 9 or 10 up :)
Very cool.
