I made the layout and all but my friend writes on it LiLcRaZyFuZzY 01-19-2005, 06:21 PM hi, well the layout is not bad, but ur using tables for layout and uppercase tags , ur code is pretty horrible&heavy, but i think u used a WYSIWYG prog, or any other tool. u really should lear to code by hand, it will give u greater control on what u do. Ouzman 01-19-2005, 06:22 PM I wrote it all by hand! Promise! I jus made those CAPS to try make it neater...guessed I failed in that :/. Green-Beast 01-19-2005, 07:41 PM Notepad rocks so good for you. It's all I use while my Dreamweaver and FP2K collect dust. I appreicate the music on/off button. It kept me on the site a moment longer. It looks like it's in need of something, more color perhaps. And better font styles would be awesome. Just kind of plain jane as it is. And yeah, don't use capped tags as that's going bye-bye. Lowercase only. No biggie though for what it is and what you're trying to do. In fact, more power to you. One screwy thing: You have a link at the bottom that says pick a background color. I said to myself, NICE, good feature. The I clicked on it and all it did was bring me to the top of the page and give me a Javascript error. Another: Close meta tags like this <meta name="whatever" content="whatevertoo" /> Not like this: <meta name="whatever" content="whatevertoo"></meta> There are more but I nodded off half way down the page. Way heavy of code and scripting. Perhaps trying something less complex, focusing on W3C rules and standards would be best. Get the mechanics down pat, then work on what it looks like. That's my, um, $0.37 Ouzman 01-19-2005, 07:50 PM Thanks for the review! Yeah that "screwey thing" I've been trying to sort for a while! Infact you may find it in another thread in these Javascript forums somewhere... Oddly enough, it works perfectly fine on my hard disk, I upload it to my host and thats where the problem starts... Ahh I jus put all my code into FrontPage and Reformatted the HTML and applied XML format rules... no more CAP or </META>s :D! Thanks yeah. Green-Beast 01-19-2005, 08:09 PM Cool man. Good luck on the script error. I don't know if this will help, but every time I encounter a JS error it always seems like it's one stupid little thing ruining it all. An errant apostrophe, or case sensitivity, or an extra space somewhere. I'm not sure why it'd work local but not on the web. That seems odd but I really don't know too much. I'm learning myself. Started doing web stuff in June of 04. I was going to peep your script a bit but I guess you're working on the site at this moment as it's not loading for me. Ouzman 01-19-2005, 08:20 PM Huh? U wanna peep my code? Jus view source...go ahead! It's not loading for you? :/ The site or the script?? The script dont load cos it dont work... Thanks for the tips! I'll try em later... I dunno where u come from gb; but where I come from its 1:18am and I have to be at school at 8:30! lol. So I'm goin bed now. hehehe Green-Beast 01-19-2005, 09:50 PM View Source, lol, yeah I know that, I did it before. But when I tried again the site did not load... page not available. I assumed you were working on it. Personally I prefer to link to all my Javascript. Nobody can see it that way and it's off my page. I'm from Nottingham NH (which you can see under my name). NH is for New Hampshire, east coast USA. Still early here. :p webdeveloper.com
