Gestbook. Is this hard to make?

I'm new in all this JScript staff. Can you help me people?
I have a question about how can I make by myself a Guestbook? I was trying to find any info about this in Internet, but it appears impossible. I found just a free GestBooks! This is not what I want! Can you tell me how can I do a real one? What kind of language and marking language I have to use? I know this is not simple. But anyway ...:D

You can not make a decent guestbook with Javascript alone and need server side scripting (whatever your host supports) as well. Using database on the server side may simplify things if you want to add some advanced features.
If your server supports ASP with MS Access and you do not want to reinvent the wheel here is my implementation (http://www.vladdy.net/webdesign/WD_Reviews.asp).
