I am currently building a website promoting local music artists and would like to have a listing of the songs by Author, Song Title and Genre.
The problem is that I don't know anything about databases and would like to learn a new language or get a better way to make this database.

What would you suggest me?

PHP and MySQL would not be a bad way to go. There are a number of books out there which discuss both together (PHP has a lot of native MySQL support).
