The banner on our website is getting old and we were looking for something trendy and attractive without loosing its structure.
Our Photoshop and Fireworks knowledge are very limited, and the first banner can reveal it!

I've been given the task to make a new banner and would be happy to have some suggestions from you experts.
I've attached the file with the old banner at the top, and the beginning of a try of a bit more modern one, and a larger format of the logo..

I'd really like to have suggestions or previews from you.

Thank you!

P.S. Files can't be attached as they are each too big. I've uploaded them on my webspace.

"New Banner" link isn't working... don't know if you have one at all. But really, you could improve any banner with some nice custom brushes, and brighter, cleaner colors. Depending on what you're going for I guess.

I'd also suggest looking for tutorials on this: GoodTutorials.com (http://www.good-tutorials.com)

Brushes: DeviantArt.com (http://browse.deviantart.com/resources/applications/psbrushes/)

I'll see if I can put something together, but don't count on it. ;)

Appears that the actual address is all-lowercase (http://pages.intnet.mu/didierah/new.png). (And that, I found by guessing. ;))

yes, sorry the address is all lower case.

Excellent sites you gave here. I'll go through them when I have some time. I'm focussing on the website content at the moment.
It would be really great if you could do it for me.

If he does graphics design professionally, I honestly can't think of one good reason why he should. Sure, you can be courteous, but it can devalue the profession as a whole. Just a thought. I think it would be better if we helped you instead of doing it for you. Just a thought, take it with a grain of salt - by no means am I against helping people.

Sorry, I didn't mean do the banner for me. He say 'put something together' and I thought that he meant giving some ideas on how to ameliorate the design. That's why I said that it would be great if he could do 'that'.
Sorry, I'm not that good at english, so I don't understand every expressions.
