I got my myself a new laptop for Christmas. Its a dell inspiron 1000. But anyways my friend came over and put limewire on my comp and started downloading videos[porn] and now all these dirty things are all over my computer. So i did a virus scan and adware scan and it found alot of thing but there are still things that need to be deleted and i can find them so i want to delete everything on my harddrive and start over new. Is that a bad idea or should i do it. If i need to how do i do it?

this would be better off in the computer issues forum.
Run AntiSpyware (http://www.microsoft.com/athome/security/spyware/software/default.mspx)
If there are then still problems post in Computer Issues (http://www.webdeveloper.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=33), and read the Sticky:HiJackThis (http://www.webdeveloper.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=50944)

You should be able to run the recovery software that came with your system and reimage it back to the way it was on day one, losing all the porn and any other data on the system now.

go to download.com, and download the following programs:
AVG Antivirus
Ad-Aware SE Personel
Spybot- Search and Destroy
Super Utilities(15 day trial)
and if you want, i really don't like it, and it has a limited time,
Webroot Spy Sweeper
That should get it. If it is still there, then do this:

I wrote the manual to make your computer basically new. Follow the directions. Reply if you have problems.
