Java Password help

I just can't figure out how to write a workable password scheme for my webpage. Can anyone help?

A "workable password scheme" happens at the server, not the web page.

I guess that I'm looking for Javascripts for doing passwords. I'm using html for my webpage and would like a protected page using a password so only I can access when I'm away from home. Any help would be appreciated.
