on my gmail account i looked at the bottom where it shows my invites and it says i HAVE 50! just look!

Everyone has them - the gmail layout has also differed slightly. To me this suggests that google are launching one last "invite attack" before going pubic.

Google started offering free email addresses with 1GB (one gigabyte) of space to store emails. The service is still beta, and the only way to get an account is to be invited by someone who already has it.

Google denies both that they'll charge existing members and that features will decrease. Google certainly has the capital to invest in, though. At any rate I grabbed mine up now and I'm quite happy. If you want, I can send an invite your way and you can check it out, you just need to provide a name and your current email address. :D

Gmail is google's take on email. You get 1 gig of storage, with filters, spam blocking tools, and the whole concept is that you don't need to delete your messages, instead you archive them, and then when you want to find something you use a search powered by the google search engine to find what you are looking for. I've been using it for nearly 8 months and its the best ever ;). I also have 50 invites now...

Are you using a real browser (http://www.getfirefox.com/)? If so, just hit Ctrl++ and the font size will increase.

Seriously though, Gmail is great. I recently took a survey from Yahoo about ways to improve their own mail services, and ended up recommending everything that Google has offered. Their limitation on file-type uploads is rather smart, as they take the 'stop any virus from being transferred' approach by disallowing .exes instead of the shaky 'scan everthing with outdated protection software' one. But most of all the searchable emails for quick finds, the 'Gmail Notifier' to tell me when I get new mail, and the 'Google Alerts' to automatically search news articles for updates for me and keep me posted via email of current events.
