Color Pallette

I thought I had the following script. The "alert" box shows up but none of my background/text colors change when I choose a different #. Can anyone show me what I'm doing wrong?

Also, how can I make sure that the current site will be reloaded when reset? I thought I had the correct code in there but it's not working. I keep getting an error message and the colors are not being set like they're suppose to be.
