any free hosting services?

I have just recently purchased the domainname. What i am looking for is free web hosting company. I hope I will get help from this place as it seems to have many experts in the related field.I did google it but cudn't understand in one way or other all seems to be paid sites.

Is there any possibilities to have free hosting companies beside geocities and tripod. Thanks in advance.

I don't know of any free hosts that let you use your own domain. That's not to say that there isn't one, but if they exist they're pretty few and far between.

Hi I'm new, but I know one that lets you use your own.
It's called X3 Fusion (http://x3fusion.com?ref=ParticularJustice)

I think it's really good, and you get 5 gb of bandwidth (that is for the free-use-their-domain-name thing, I think the use-your-own-domain-name gets 10 gb, but I haven't checked in a while)

Hi,
I like netfirms.com. They are very nice and helpful. They offer a free hosting plan but there is a banner ad for them on your page. Hey free is free right? If you ever want the banner to go away, then it's I believe 4.95 a month which works out to be like 60 bucks a year (which I ended up doing) and you get more stuff like webspage and emails and stuff like that.
But the free thing is perfect to atleast get your site up and running.
