Hi!

Not even albinos are white. Dark skinned Africans (as an example for the 'darker' people among us) are not black, Vietnamese are not yellow, American natives are not red. I am pale having relatives who are less pale (due to some lovely mixture of parents of different origin & color).

Jupac, you are not white - just like me. But you would call me white and I am not. I am a pale face...

Ben, being a local patriot (which has nothing to do with my nationality), I refuse to be a 'caucasian' - I am an 'Übach Unterdorfer' (don't worry about that: it's VERY local). :D

On the other hand, I don't have big problems with 'races' being biologically distinguished (I studied biology and anthropology for a couple of semesters).

What I mainly wanted to say is: the color of someone's skin doesn't give anybody a critera to know, what kind of person he/she is dealing with. As far as the 'social acceptance' is concerned: in my family, we use different words, but nobody minds about black, white and whatever. In these terms I am 100% white, but I don't care.

I might be inhuman sometimes, but I am a member of my species; I might not be wise, but my species is called 'homo sapiens'.

And I do not have a problem to consider myself not more than a tiny little Caucasian fart polluting the universe (which does not want to disturb you or anyone else).:p

I would note that most african-americans are more brown, and the term black came from African's skin (as in born in Africa), and to be the opposite of the "oppressive whites," and so it's more brown+yellow=puky green, but then I'd just be being an ass. ;)
