I have learnt some html by notepad but I love the ease of use of using frontpage compared to coding everything by hand. However I know everyone complains of junk code thats too long which it generates. What is a really good functional program for coding that has the cool features without the junk coding?
Thanks
Sunstone :)

If you want to have it right, you got to do it yourself. Get a notepad type program with syntax highlighting, that helps...
I personally use Dreamweaver. I almost entirely use the code view and hard code my pages. I just like the syntax hightlighting that it provides. It also provides good syntax hightlighting for PHP, which is a definite must for me.

Yes, I definitly agree with Pyro, have a look at Dreamweaver MX, it was designed with coders in mind. The programe is a bit pricey but worth it.
If you looking for Free Software, there is an excellent programe called 1st Page 2000. You can download it at

I could be mistaken, but I don't believe that 1st Page 2000 is available for download any more...

Well spotted Pyro, I just followed my own link and saw that the web site is still there but the programe is no longer at download.com
It's a shame because it is a lovely little editor. I think I have it on disk somewhere, if anybody wants it I'll post it on my download site.
I would like to download it, if you are willing to post it to your site. If you'd rather, you could email it to me. If you want to do that, pm me and I'll give you my address.

I just got Dreamweaver MX (mostly from the good advice of Pyro) and I'm anxious to get into it. And if you are a student, you can get it for $99.
