I just setup my server (djali) and it is running w2k. W2k cannot run remote desktop though. I quicly consulted my old invalid pal google and found something called vnc. This is a light weight remote desktop gui client that is open source that runs on windows, unix, linux, and mac. I installed it and boy is it lovely. I run it at high quality but I can change the compression for speed, so on and so fourth. It is very easy to setup. All I had to do was install it on my two boxes. Then I set the server client to run at startup on the 2k box. Then I set the pass on the server client (it runs admin). Then I start the viewer client on my xp box and wahlah, I am running playing on my 2k box within a window on my xp box. Brilliant.

I tried a vnc a few years ago; slow and low res. Sounds like they've improved.
Which vnc are you running, I might give it another go.

I fixed the prompting issues... it was an issue with my web.config that I copied over, but I cant use IUSR for my annon logins because that will kill my performance counters. I am going to have to create a new user account in a bit to get this working just how I want it. Pain in the rear.... Right now I have admin as the annon user account, which is really asking for trouble. So I am about to make a new account.

But the coolest thing is it will work for everything. You can run the vnc server on a unix or linux box and then access it from a windows box or mac box, or whatever. It has an internet daemon too, like I could supposedly control my servers accross the net (like remote desktop). I wanna try it from school... our school does not like remote desktop or telnet, or anything like that, but I have seen one program work and I am not sure if this is it or not.

I run the RealVNC server on my crappy WinXP Home Machine and use Chicken of the VNC on my mac to connect to the windows machine

I am going to put it on our school network lol... cause hell on the other side of the class room. Mouse wars baby! "Oh god... my computer is posting on this forum all by it's self and it is insulting me... what kind of virus is this?!"
