selecting an email handle

I'm getting ready to set up a gmail account and am having trouble selecting an email name. Does anyone have any tips on how to choose one?

Well, I finally settled on a handle, but I still think it would be helpful to hear how folks came up with theirs. Me, I wanted something that suited me. I wanted to avoid using my board name, which was taken anyway, and my EQ2 character name. I was also looking for something that was not pretentious and wouldn't elicit strange looks from people. The grail was sitting right next to me in the form of my coffee mug. It suits me, is not pretentious, and I can hold my head high in email conversations.

So, anyone else have email handle selection stories or tips on selecting one?

Well I just used “jameskahlin(at)gmail(dot)com” which is my name. My forum handle however is a different story. It’s actually a composition of my real first and last name.

I tried my first and last name, but considering they are two of the most common names around, the chances were kind of slim to get kevinjones(at)gmail(dot)com or any variation of it.

the internet handle i use i have never seen anyone else use, and so i use it at every forum i visit. so, i kept it when i set up my gmail account.
