Hi everyone,

I am a newbie and am seeking advice. Don't know if this is the best place so if you have other suggestions please feel free to redirect.

I know HTML and some VB but that's about it. I know of other languages but not to program.

I have my own website using just HTML but I've wanted to have a site for many years now that will use technology I don't know and that there is already quite a bit of business already. I'd like to run fantasy football leagues and have different kinds of leagues and games also combined w/ an information site about FF.

The question is this. If I wanted to get this up and ready in a couple of months would I be better off hiring developers and do the marketing myself or are there good enough Web and HTML editors where I can design what I need.

Obviously I would need a merchant system, CSS, ASP or something similar, database/hosting.

What is the cost to have something like this developed? What is the learning curve if web based editors can do what I need them to do?

Thanks so much!

Well you'll need server side scripting and a database system avalible, good combinations are PHP+mysql or ASP+msSQL. You might want to learn these using some free hosting. PHP hosting (http://mybesthost.com), ASP hosting (http://1asphost.com/). All paid hosts have some type of server scripting support.

The main cost is time and this depends on how quick a learner you are.
