First of all, innocent thread, just want to be able to use my computer's shuffle, can't do that without the files on it.
All right, I've been looking for a free mp3 ripper- all the ones I've tried are pretty bad. There are either ads, inability to copy all the files of the CD, slowness, horrible formatting, and/or no ID3 support (which is fine, but annoying). I was wondering if anyone here had any suggestions, before I pollute my computer.
Thanks in advance.

I use JetAudio. It's an all-in-one music center. It can rip cds, convert music file to different formats, record to a variety of formats, burn CDs, and it can even do internet radio broadcasts. On top of that it is 100% free and has a great looking skinable GUI. I've been using JetAudio for more than a year and never had a problem with it, no spyware, no junk, nothing! You can get version 6.1 here: http://www.jetaudio.com/download/

Windows Media Player does a very good job at ripping .cda to .mp3.

Ah, thanks, Bluetag. JetAudio is working rather nicely for me. .wav is the current format, but, bah, it works. I'd gladly reccomend the software to someone else.
As for WMP... two words: "Series 9." It's also rather slow, and irritating... and Microsoft. :p Thanks for trying, lol.
