Load Balancing – Hosting?

I already have an account with resellerchoice.com but would like another account just like it so I can setup backup redundant sites for my clients, I’m also looking for more information about load balancing, I would like for the web surfer coming to my site to be directed to the server that is closest or fastest to respond.

Anyone else ever done this before and have some tips?.

When it comes to load balancing, one of the best is the Zeus software, however, it is expensive, I think around $1200 per server. Have a look at their website and read their docs.

I noticed that reseller choice uses hostingcontroler software, the big selling attraction of hostingcontroller is it's billing system rather than it's ability to serve content. I'm not very confident with a programe that will use any Windows OS as a server platform. But it is good when used Win 2K Server only.
