learning action script

I was thinking of learning action script. I don't really need to, Flash MX is doing all I need to do, but I'm curious how it all works.

My first question is where are the tutorials? A simple google search hasn't revealed anything really useful...

The second question is what other languages is action script related to.

very similar to javascipt in syntax.

try looking at macromedia.com for tuts there should be some there.
