I'm going to put up a website soon, that will be shared by me and another guy. I was wondering what are some good free hosts.

Angelfire is good for beginners. STAY AWAY FROM GEOCITIES!

I haven't used Angelfire in a while, as I can do my own HTML, besides, Angelfire's too small. The site in question is well over 20 megs. It's a webcomic, so lots of images.

BTW, what's wrong with Geocities?

If it's a webcomic, you might be able to find free speciality hosting that is better than the general-purpose packages. Rox Comics (http://www.roxcomics.com/) is an example I just came across, but I have no experience with them and imagine there are others.

Drunk Duck (http://drunkduck) is one hell of a host, management and free promotion.

Thanks. Should have thought about them.

EDIT: Unfortunately, after talking with some admins, it's not quite what I'm looking for... What will be posted is actually a complete site. DrunkDuck's not really able to give me what I want.

A general purpose package is pretty much what would serve this site best

How about Keenspot (http://www.keenspot.com/)? They have free webcomic hosting (http://siteadmin.keenspace.com/cgi-bin/signup.cgi). Not sure how their standards are, but a few comics I read are on keenspot (I'm reading 29 right now, lol), and I think/hope it's customizable enough to become standards. BTW, if it isn't a furry comic, link me up when you get started... I'm something of a webcomic addict.

What do you have against furry comics?

Ben is secretly bald, unable to grow hair of anykind. Therefor, when he sees characters with such vast amounts of hair (ie: Skinner a la mod) he goes into fits of jealousy and loses his wits.

and if he can't see it, like he can't seem to do with the rest of my site, i'll host it somewhere else.

Mr. Initial Man The Phish Tank (http://www.little-fish.co.uk/phpBB2/) is just starting up, and will probably be willing to bend to your needs.

My secrets revealed! What do you have against furry comics?I just don't want to read them. I'm not saying a comic has to have human characters, but it's very much preferable, and a comic showcasing your... um... tastes would be... something I'd like to avoid. *sweatdrop*and if he can't see it, like he can't seem to do with the rest of my site, i'll host it somewhere else.Nah, your site started working for me again a few months ago =\ ... don't remember?

Geeze, dude, you make it sound like all I'm interested in is pr0n. It's getting a bit annoying. To tell you the truth, most of what is on my website is NOT adult material.

And, no, this webcoming is NOT pornographic (somewhat coarse humor, nothing worse than that).

You really don't know me, do you? "It's getting... annoying." Why do you think I keep up with it? :D I mean no offense, I'm pretty su- I mean, I know you're not a pr0nn0 phr4yk. ;) What's it going to be called, anyways? Just wondering.

It's called The Original Coach Random. Right now I'm having trouble with the layout, due to IE being a witch.

i cant offer you free hosting but i can offer you cheap as chips hosting, yes i know i underestimated the site design ETA, and ignore the prices i can do you a deal or something since we are all web dev gurus, eg 12months for the price of 6, so that would be for your comic site $3.95*6 = $23.7 for the year, no-ads just pure hosting with all the features, contact me for more details

The problem I found with 99% of free webhosts, is they had limited disk space and didnt allow scripting like php or even worse, had ads.

I use the following for multiple different sites, completely free and happy with it ...
