webdevforum.net (http://www.webdevforum.net)

EDIT: I chose a completely new design after reading through alot of criticism. I chose a very light and clean design, trying to keep it professional. How does it look? I the only problem i can find myself, is that there is little difference between the new posts and no new post icons.

The animation at the top is really iritating.

I'm not particularly fond of the yellow, myself. Did you create that theme or download it from somewhere else? Also, are you offering hosting or looking for dedicated members who are offering hosting? The site looks cool for something hi-tech, but I don't think it particularly pleases the eye. I like lighter, softer colors, myself, but that may just be me.

I have to agree with the others, though I'm not bothered by the subtle animation. I think if the post bodies and forum description sections were of a lighter blue or even a gray color, it'd do the trick.

Jona - yellow? the only yellow i have on my page is the color of the moderator's names.

I was thinking of making the image just a gif. It does look sorta nice, but i can understand it being iritating when reading posts.

The reason why i wanted a dark design, was i i thought it was easier on the eyes? Though i do agree, a lighter design sometimes is more professional.

Usually, you might think a bright background would be harder on the eyes, but I beg to differ. In my experience, a dark background with bright text causes a headache after reading for just a few minutes (the headache worsens when I look away from the screen after reading for so long). If any person decides that it is too bright, they can adjust the brightness on their screen.

As far as yellow - moderators names, and when you hover over links.

Do you know what I mean?

The animation I can deal with... I genneraly have my speakers off so I didn't notice the sound. As we all Know nothing says "I'm not working, but I am surfing on company time" than a website that has sound effects.

The Tree has a good point... the Very dark template does nothing to invite users or seem like the kind of site a professional designer would hang out at.

Possibly a border around the 'outside' so to make a little emphasis?
