simple username/password cookie

hi guys, wonder if someone can help me. I've got a page, I need to implement cookies to store a username and password. the username and password are entered into a simple form (2 input boxes) and if the password is incorrect the window must close

any ideas? i just cant seem to wrap my head around cookies!

take a look at this script,it should be almost trivial to change it to add password field.
