...although I was at another forum recently where you could select any text in a post, and then click on a button that said: "quote selected", and it would insert the text into the post with vb quote tags around it. I wonder how they did that. ;)

...now if webdev could get rid of the ad in the column that is taking up 1/3 of the page.

In any case, thanks for upgrading. :)

I believe this is in the wrong forum... Best to move this to feedback.

Hehe, I should really consider becoming a moderator on these forums and get paid.
I seem to have alot of time on my hands for programming.
I haven't seen anyone's profile read more than an avarage of 10 posts per day

Take a look at pyro and PeOfEo, both having around 10,000 posts. Although they are both moderators or higher, they have more than 10 posts per day.

Wow, you have more posts per day than me
Can you keep that avarage going?
I'll take a look at pyro's and PeOfEo's profiles.

Are you sure the moderators don't get paid in these forums?
In the MTG message forums, they get paid.

The administrators and several of the super moderators work for JupiterMedia, and they get paid, but none of the moderators do. They arre completely volunteer. Otherwise, you'd notice they would always be online, like JPnyc, who works for JM.

You seem to know alot about these forums, is this your second user-name?

You seem to know alot about these forums, is this your second user-name?No, I've just been a spectator here for quite a while. Actually, all of what I am saying is based on what I know from another forum, which I've been at a while, which is also owned by Jupitermedia. I assume they all work the same way.,

JS_Prof_Cons is correct, Ultimater. Moderators (and most of the super moderators) are volunteers and don't get paid for moderating.

Also, for average posts, that is calculated based on when you registered vs. how many posts you have made thus far. I've been registered since 2003 (though there was a 4- or 6-month period where I didn't post at all).

Sorry for not including you in the near-10,000 club. pyro and PeOfEo were just two I remebered.

Hmm. didn't the old forum software allow you to see the top 10 members by posts? Is it me, or can you not do this any longer?

You can still do it. Click the "posts" link at the top of the column in the member list and it will sort them by the most posts.

Hehe, I should really consider becoming a moderator on these forumsYou don't apply to be a moderator, the administrators will ask someone if they want to be a moderator if and when there's a vacancy.

fredmv,

Is there going to be any change with that ad taking up a column that is 1/3 of the page wide?

'Tis not hard -- but it requires JavaScript.

I would guess not... Intrusive real estate makes it possible to charge higher costs to the client for the advertisement.

just block it via ad block

It woun't work, at least not for Fire Fox... The image is bloked, but it keeps the same display... I guess that is minor problem regarding the tables/rows/cells arrangement...

If it ever bugs me, I'll looking into blocking the ad. But to tell you the truth, it doesn't give me headaches like the color scheme used to. Although I recovered from that also.

WHAT!?!?! I DEMAND A PAYCHECK! :p fredmv,

Is there going to be any change with that ad taking up a column that is 1/3 of the page wide?
that decision isn't up to fred, nor any of the other moderators. it's up to the admin.
