domain propagation
Has anyone noticed that new domain names only take a few hours to be active. ? last year it took 48 hours ..

Lines get faster, boxes get faster. Not really anything to do with HTML is it?

It would depend on how often the DNS servers update. Not really a matter of how fast the lines are, but when the DNS server you are accessing updates its list of domain names.

Probably your local DNS is now being updated more frequently. Doesn't mean any other are though. Each DNS is updated independently.

Which is why they normally say it takes 48 hours for a domain name to become active. By that point, DNS servers around the world should have updated. In two hours, you may be able to use a domain name, but somebody cross country, or in a different country might not be able to.
