Maybe you should do it for free, learn something about the effort required (in hours) and use it as the beginings of a portfolio for future paying jobs.

It's hard to give you an answer when we don't know the requirements. Is it just pure HTML/CSS? Is there server side stuff needed? A database? Etc...

A site with no server side technologies and less than ten pages could cost anything from £20 to £200, depending on how good it is.

Or a few thousand. A static site (or one with an extremely small amount of server-side functionality) is still quite an involved task and should be considered worthy of a standard paycheck. There is no way I would spend several weeks/months of my time working on a project for a few hundred dollars/pounds (let alone 20!).
Regards.

If it is only a small or not very involved task then just ask for £10 - £20 and Hour that is a very reasonable fee, if it does require alot of work I.e Scripting and database work then its gonna be more expensive maybe £40 -£60 and Hour.

I'm glad someone finally brought a balance to this thread. £20? I mean, come on!Obviously you would never think of doing this. But if you spent about 3 hours on a site you would be able to make it look aceptable, possibly even interesting and as you spent around 3 hours, then you could reasonably accept £20 for it, even if you never think of putting it in your portfolio.
Just for perspective, £1 = $2 roughly.
So that'd be what, an hourly rate of $13? I don't think so...

i would say and the rest, £200 is extremly cheap for a unique static site design and content population.
