Hi, I want to input Japanese characters into a web page. I am using Windows 98 and do not know if Japanese Input method Editor recommended by a friend (whatever this actually does) works with this operating system. I have tried searching Microsoft site but only get references to loading IME with Office. Anyone know an easy (cheap) way to add Japanese characters? Is there a template out here that fits over an English keyboard? There must be another way to paying expensive translation fees and I have a Japanese friend who will provide the text. Its just getting it into the computer that we don't know how to do?

Ever hear of Install On Demand? If you have the right code (whether ASCII or Unicode or other) in the page (like ኮ for ASCII) then the computer will automatically atempt to download the file that allows you to see Japanese characters. Try searching for a Japanese Web site, and viewing it. Then you should get a prompt to download the Japanese Text Support.

Thanks yes I have downloaded Japanese language support and also have a program called NJ Star. But it's quite tricky so I'm gonna pay a translator after all!! Thanks anyway.
