I'm sure most of you heard about the earthquake near the coast of sumatra...
Anyway, This was what happened... i was surfing the net and listening to some rock channel. All of a sudden my body was shaking left to right.. right to left. I thought my body was shaking to the awesome music i was listening. Then i heard screams from my apartment mates yelling "the earth is shaking! we have to go down now!".. the 20 storey condo(we're staying in) may not withstand the tremor. In a haste, i took my shirt, pants, wallet, mobile and keys, started running unstably down from the 18th floor(was a long way)... managed to get out of the building only to know that i was half naked... my ts wasn't on. It was really crowded at the ground. Anyway i met up with my friends and we decided to go for a hot comfort drink at some open space...by then it wasn't shaking anymore...this seem to be calm finally and thats mean CNN news reported the breaking-news... an earthquake reading 8.2 have hit the coastline of sumatra and it may cause yet another tsunami to occur. The news caught everyone's attention at the cafe. i'm actually living in malaysia...visual distance from the K.L twin tower yet most of us still felt the tremor! It was my first and it was an uncomfortable one. After spending an hour or two at the cafe, we decided that it's time to go back to our apartment. When i was about to pay for my drinks, i realized i was wearing two pants... i'm not sure why and it still bothers me until now....
What i encountered was just a minor shock... yet caused so much panic! I can't imagine how terrible it would be in sumatra. Last i heard.. 2000 had lost their life! I pray there won't be more and i'll be willing to contribute whatever i can to help those in need from sumatra. I hope you will too...
