I want to have a d-base that checks customers discount code, places appropriate discount (math) on shopping cart.

The shopping cart/catalog built into my web builder takes care of all that. All I do is enter the code for the appropriate items. If you're talking about an "add-on," I'm not sure how you would go about it. But if you have a catalog/shopping cart setup, my bet is, it has some provision for discount codes already there. What are you using?
