I have a client that what’s to take 360 degree views of their products and place them on line. They want the facility that allows the user to rotate and view the product in flash. Do you know what software is available to do this? Also what is the best hardware to take the product images? The idea is an automated process as much as possible, as there are a lot of products.

How smooth would you want it. Do you want to look like a 3d object that you can slowly "walk" around via the camera like this (http://www.chevrolet.com/corvette/colors/index.jsp?module=_conv_ext)? Or do you have like 6 pictures taken from 0, 60, 120, 180, 240, 300, and 360 degrees that you want the viewer to be able to cycle through with little arrow buttons going either way?
I'm not sure how to do the first, but for the second way, you can simply make a presentation in flash with those images lined up in separate frames, in order (going around starting from the front and then moving around the left side, to the back, then finally to the right) with arrow buttons used to move forward and backward through each frame in the presentation. Then loop the presentation and voila! Simple but effective. It's relative easy to do, so long as you have flash and are relatively experienced with it. If you need further guidance in the specific actions in flash you should take, feel free to ask, or check out one of their tutorials.

I did something similar recently...

like gorky said, I spun the car in my 3d app and then exported the individual frames into flash.
ps
the first way is a quicktime VR file. I dont know how to do those either :)

Hi!
I have made a small flash aplication called 3d object rotation in flash. You can check this url flash 3d rotate (http://www.yofla.com/flash/3d-rotate/).
It rotates the object using an image sequence. The images are external stored jpgs and you configure all via an xml file.

Hi, nice tool.. but can you make it also supporting 'vertical' image steps, like the QTVR's from apple? These VR's have also 4 or 6 vertical perspectives, so you can really move 360*180degrees around the object..
here an example:
