I realize that the links go nowhere and there's no form to post comments, but any other comments are welcome.
Thankyou.

For starters, the navigation doesn't exist without flash, sort that one out.
The overall design looks pretty neat and well done although I think that it might need some of the schools style in it. Try gettting the school crest, taking away the colour, increasing the lightness (a lot), and then using it as a background for the main text.

I can't believe I didn't remember that...
With regards to the school crest idea, I've been given two instructions regarding this: try to incorporate the crest, and try not to use anything from the school site. These don't really work together, so I'm going to have to get more information.

I don't suppose we could see the schools site for reference? That is a pretty difficult specification your working with, good luck with it.

Sure - http://www.khviii.com/ . I hate their site - the design's nice (I'm told), although not one I would have chosen personally, but sometimes it just doesn't work - you click on links and the page that opens is the wrong one etc.

Yeh, I don't like that site at all. I've attached a grascale, faded out and slightly blurred version of the crest, I think it'd would go well as a background to your text.
I forgot to say in my last post, your flash is really cool, just needs to be made accessable.

Thanks - I'm going to play around with a crest to go somewhere, just need to make it fit. The faded one may be exactly what I need.
I think I'll create an image-based version of the flash navigation, for those without flash; the image-based one can then be made accessible for those without images.

I'd keep the alternative navigation as simple as possible, there's no point spending ages on something that most people cant see. I think just a simple list (http://css.maxdesign.com.au/listamatic/horizontal04.htm), with the same background image as you have now would be enough.

Don't think I can really watermark it without losing the 'clean' look, now that I've tried it. I'll have a go with the higher resolution version when I'm back at school, but I think there's something to be said for keeping school insignia off, try to encourage people to participate and lose the aura of dictatorship.
Plus it's a public (private) school, charging about £1300 per term, and they're paying me nothing, so they'll get what they're given. :D

That is rather mean of them. I see what you mean, are they insisting on having the schools crest or can you negotiate them away from it?
