Design newbie here be patient. I'm making a photography site for a friend, she wants the home page to have a centered photo background with faded edges to a solid color. She is using 1024x768, which I designed for, but when I view it in 800x600 the left faded edge is narrower of course & doesn't fully sit behind the link images on the left. How can I optimize the images to "matte" the background. Please view the site in both resolutions, any help is greatly appreciated. I know CSS is preferred on this site, I'm learning but she needs it asap.

Sorry, I don't have an answer for you but it's really not good to design for 1024x768. ;)

Sorry, what I meant was that I designed it to fill 8x6 & to look best in 1024x768. My main question was how to (if there is a way) matte a light colored transparent text image, to a multi-colored background image. I know I could slice the text image link over the background image and save it. But when the background image moves in different resolutions the light colored transparent text image is unreadable. Yeah, that makes sense, huh?

Sorry like I said, "newbie"
