well today is the day
I go to court to give evidence in an attempted murder trial
You may recall that I witnessed a stabbing at a phone booth, here in Melbourne, about 2 years ago. I saved the victims life (well God did, I just showed up and tried to stop the bleeding) and pointed out the Criminal (then at large), after this I spent several hours in a police station, then flew to africa for a Mission Trip (twas a busy night)....... well the case has finally gone to trial and I am the star witness for the prosecution *insert gulp here*.. I am sooooooooo not looking forward to this, however the hour is upon me.... lol....
I guess it is my civil duty, and it is for this reason I am happy (well sort of) to do it..... wish me luck guys (and gals Hoola..)
Take care, will let you know what happened

Well, today it was all a bit boring, basically the trial starts tommorrow and I shall be giving evidence in front of the Jury.. Today it was just the accused and the judge.... I did look into the eyes of the dude, he seemed somewhat unhappy at my presence..
I hardly recognised him he was all dressed up (LOL far cry from how I saw him on the night)..... will keep you informed........
It's all a bit interesting

At least you still recognized him. I had to testify once and honestly didn't really recognize the guy. Luckily it didn't matter much. He was a cop wearing a nametag and with 2 other cops who agreed he was there. Of course the other cops didn't confirm what he had done, but the id was still good.

Wow scary! I did not know that happened to you, seeing as I only joined this forum a little while ago. Well, hope all is going well for you!

Jeff, before you testify, ask yourself this- the man who got stabbed... did he deserve it? :D Use this to your advantage! "$200 or the guy goes free." Come on, Jeff. You know you want to.
Disclaimer: Ignore the above. :p

Ben,, yes the Guy probably did deserve something, thats the whole trouble with this whole incident.. Its not like there is a definate guilty person attacking an innocent person, the whole thing was a drug deal gone bad... everyone is guilty of something in this case (except for me.. I did nothing but stop a guy from bleeding to death)...
The case was stressful to say the least, I was in the witness stand for over an hour (i do mean stand.. would be nice if they let you sit down)... I told the truth, much to the dismay of Brett (Mr.Stabby) and bretts lawyer... I was getting evil stares from the accused and now I'm getting prank calls at work (which I had to say, along with my address in court?) ..... the guy has been found guilty (after my testimony he pleaded out to a lesser charge) I'm not sure what the sentance will be (he is already in gaol on another charge)....
It was well harsh, the prosecutor was trying to make me look like a saint whilst the defence was trying to make me look like the devil himself... EVERYone had their eyes firmly glued on me the whole time... It was in the supreme court, so it was no trivial matter..... I'm glad it is over...
Any questions I am pleased to answer,,,,

I understand the devil part, but how did they manage to make you look like a saint?
Just kidding. I hope everything goes well.
btw, here is yet another reason for you to like America if you would just give it a chance, we get to sit down in court! Ok, not as good of a reason as low (relatively) petrol prices, but I'm trying.

<reverant awe>Dude! I had no idea this was going on!
Jeff. I have soooo much respect for you. Holy crapoli dude. It's gotta be hard as ph4rk to do all this, yet you don't seem to be fazed by it all, just... tired. Are you scared/worried? And what do you mean by 'prank calls'?
I want to say keep up the good work/citizenship, but you've kind of already gone there and beyond...</reverant awe>
