I just discovered that my pc files when brought over to a mac get their case all screwed up. Any name that fits into the DOS 8.3 character size is copied as upper case.

I had to go in by hand and rename dozens of files and folders. Does anyone know a work around?

What OSs? Using FTP instead of networked file systems should eliminate the problem.

Actually, I think that that's the case if you are using removable media, and you are in OS 9. If you have OS X on your Mac, just do File Sharing on your PC and connect through SMB. Everything should look alright.

yeah, I used a mem stick and my eternal drive and both of them cause this problem in OS X 10.3.8

I'll try using smb or I might have to just copy the data to an ftp site. This is for when I go to a clients location so network access is not always there.
