I'm trying to get my link popularity higher, I just opened my site. Where is a good place to find sites that would link to me if I link to them in return (for free)?

Use a search engine to search for sites that have content related to yours, link to them, and then email them to let them know you have linked to them and to request a return link. If they don't add a return link within a week or two then you can remove the link to them.

If you search for '"free reciprocal links' in google, then a list of companies offering reciprocal links will come up, as well as websites with databases of sites offing to trade links.

Free random links are not worth what they used to be...they can actually hurt you.

Make sure the sites you get links on actually have relevant conent to your site.

They will be of more value and increase your popularity the way you want.
